Scout Shop

 We have some exciting news to share with you regarding our Scout Shop in Warwick, RI! 

This spring we are transitioning our Scout Shop from a Council run store to a store operated by the National Supply Division of the Boy Scouts of America. 

As part of the transition, the store will be moving a few miles up the road to a new location, and we are thrilled to be able to offer a completely new and redesigned store! 

The new location will be at 575 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick, RI. This is the shopping plaza with Stop & Shop and Lowes at the corner of RI Route 5 and Route 113. The new location offers plenty of parking and easier highway access – no more Route 2 traffic! 

Timeline (subject to change based on construction schedule): 

Last day the West Bay Scout Shop will be open: April 1, 2023 

Store closed for transition: April 2-16, 2023 

Soft opening: April 17, 2023 

Returns: 

Any product you have purchased must be returned by the close of business on April 1. No returns will be accepted past that date. 

Personnel: 

We are pleased to announce that longtime Narragansett Council team member Patrick Afonso has been selected by the National Council as the manager for the new store. Many of you will remember Pat as manager of the former East Bay Scout Shop and director of Adventure Base Camp. It will be nice to have Pat as a familiar face to welcome you to the new store!  

We are also bringing over many of the existing part-time staff. We may have a few part-time retail associate positions available, if interested, please email Patrick.Afonso@scouting.org 

Store Hours: 

Tentatively, the hours will be: 

Monday – Friday 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM 

Saturday: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM 

Sunday: Closed 

Product Supply: 

With this change, you will see a much larger supply of Scouting gear and products for sale at the Scout Shop. This will help to ensure that we always have the products you are looking for. 

Sewing Services: 

Sewing services for uniform patches will now be offered through the Scout Store. 

Unit Accounts: 

As part of the transition, Unit Accounts will be phased out. We encourage units to spend down their balances before April 1. Those Units with a balance after April 1 will have several options including transferring the funds to summer camp, buying a National Supply gift card, or receiving a check.  

Shipping:

Shipping will be available, though free shipping will be discontinued
